MaLa Broussard is a Lifestyle Entertainment Writer, Content Creator, and Media Personality who serves as Editor-In-Chief of MaLaSpeaks based in Houston, Texas.
MaLaSpeaks! “Let Me Tell Your Story” is an online publication who highlights independent writers the opportunity to gain visibility through online audience, which includes myself. MaLaSpeaks researched to discover a loop hole that was not allowing aspiring journalists and writers to obtain gigs successfully. The opportunity for collegiate students break into the industry was slim to none if they were not an affiliate or in partnership with an established organization.
MaLaSpeaks wanted to flattened the curve to break through the barrier in areas of Media, TV, Entertainment, and Publications Industries.
Our passion is writing articles about fashion, food, entertainment, lifestyle, and nonfiction stories from a locals point of view. We write about real stories about real people that make a difference in “my” Houston community.
My ancestors thrived on showing we care through Fashion, Food, and Entertainment.
Fashion was not always matching but, it makes sense to me. Color schemes like yellow brighten up my spirit and orange is a bold direct explanation mark, in my opinion. That’s me!
Food is my first love. It is the glue that binds my soul together. As a self proclaimed and Le Cordon Bleu Graduate mastering International Cuisine recipes with a, twist of Creole sauce.
Entertainment is my personal gift I have which comes easy to me without being forced. My contributions to the International Houston Black Film Festival (IHBFF) Community Day in 2018 was one highlight that I cherish the most.
MaLa got to interview Directors, Producers, Writers, Actresses, and Actors about their short films selections which included upcoming films to look out for in future projects.
In the first year of business in 2018. MaLa was nominated by Houston Community College (HCC) System for Student of the Year, Houston Dynamo Student of the Game, and Circle of Change Leadership Conference “Will Keim” Student of the Year Award in California. It was an awesome year!
Media Partnership approved credentials from Houston Dynamo, Houston Dash, The 2nd Annual Eyeconic Event featuring the Eyeconic Awards, Slim Thug and The 6th Annual Boss Life Ball, and Go DJ Hip Hop Entertainment Awards Congresswomen Sheila Jackson Lee and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi “Moms Summit”. Also featured on flyers and digital publications IG@Newbox_NWBX, Designer Zee Zainab, for Mental Art and Fashion Show in 2018.
